Mumbai: Two Kannada books “Spatikada Shalaakeyante”, (collection of Interviews) and “Bhraamaka Jagattu” written by renowned litterateur and journalist Srinivas Jokatte, was released on 25 August, 2012 at the Samarasa Bhavan of Karnataka Sangha, Matunga.
Former President of Saphalya Seva Sangha, Mumbai M.G. Karkera released the books. In his speech M.G. Karkera said “I am indeed happy to release these two books of award winning litterateur Shrinivas Jokatte, who is also going to receive one more award soon. I am not a writer or litterateur but I am very much interested in reading such books. Since Kannada writers have been receiving many Jnanapeeta Awards, so we need to support such writers who are rich in talents. I wish Srinivas Jokatte every success in this field, who may be one of the Jnanapeeta Award winners in the future.”
Avinash Kamat gave brief introduction of “Bhraamaka Jagattu” and Rajeeva Narayana Nayak spoke about “Spatikada Shalaakeyante”, both written by Shrinivas Jokatte.
Dr. G.D. Joshi president of Karnataka Sangha, Mumbai presided over the function and congratulated Shrinivas Jokatte for his achievement. Omdas Kannangar welcomed the guests, and General Secretary of Karnataka Sangha, Dr. Bharatkuar Polipu introduced the guests and compered the programme.
“Spatikada Shalaakeyante” a book contains the interviews of 51 prominent Kannadigas including Baragoor, G.V. Iyar, Nagatihalli, Chittaala, Kaaykini, Pejaavara Sree, S. Diwakar, G. Rajashekar. Jokatte has already published 15 Kannada books prior to the the release of these two new books.
