Dakshina Kannada district police has arrested six persons in connection with five cases of stone pelting on KSRTC buses on Saturday during a hartal call given by Hindu right wing organisations protesting participation of Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan in a communal amity rally in the city. The cases were registered in Belthangady, Bantwal rural and town police station limits, Bhushan Gulabrao Borase, superintendent of police said.The accused in case registered in Belthangady PS is Kavan Kumar, 23, who indulged in the act at Pilichandikallu at Kuvettu in Belthangady taluk. In the case registered in Bantwal town police station, police arrested Achyuth, SP said.
Bantwal rural police arrested four persons in connection with three cases registered in their limits. The accused are Aatish, 26 of Kallige, Praveen, 28 of Kumdelu, and Mukesh, 26, and Kishore, 28 of Maripalla.All the above accused were booked under sections 427 of IPC and section 2(A) of Karnataka Prevention of Destruction of Loss of Property Act, 1981 and produced before jurisdictional court.
